Role Overview:
Lutsen Mountains is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support our Head of Housekeeping in overseeing our daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and manage a team of housekeepers.
Responsibilities
Supervisory:
- Assist in training, and scheduling of housekeeping staff including housekeepers, runners, and laundry personnel.
- Assign tasks and manage daily work schedules based on guest occupancy.
- Work with the Head of housekeeping to address employee concerns and performance issues.
- Hold staff accountable for their quality of work and use the established process to track patterns of which teams consistently need to re-enter rooms as a tool for improving their job performance and productivity
Quality Control:
- Regularly inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Identify and report maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Work with Front Desk for any guest needs regarding check-in times or guest requests.
- Work with Head of Housekeeping to manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, including requisitions for restocking.
General:
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilities are maintained to high standards.
- Transport and carry cleaning supplies including housekeeping cart, vacuum and sanitizers to/from various resort and outlying areas.
- Clean hotel units, common areas, restrooms, hallways, lounges, and corridors; restock supplies.
- Respond to room calls.
- Help to maintain resort and common areas including shoveling, and garbage pick-up.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of housekeeping, guest service or hospitality management experience preferred 
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English, bilingual a plus
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays required and willingness to flex up or down in scheduled work hours (based on business needs)
